The card offered a mirroring guide and nothing for the other half of its own heading. Action State has published an operator guide for running a witness: endpoints and schema, deploy, backup and restore with a cryptographic restore check, key rotation, offline receipt verification without contacting the witness, and registering one checkpoint with more than one witness. It marks hardware key custody, continuity checking and refusing the write on equivocation as planned rather than shipped. Read before linking: it describes running a witness under your own domain and your own key, with their code as optional tooling rather than a dependency, which is the only version worth linking from a page that says single-operator dependency is a weakness. The "Run a mirror or a witness" card pointed at
MIRRORS.mdfor one half of its own heading and offered nothing for the other. Action State has published an operator guide for running a witness, so the card now carries both links. What is in the guide: what a witness is, standing one up locally and on Cloud Run, deploy, monitoring, backup and restore with a cryptographic restore-verification step, key rotation, verifying a receipt offline without contacting the witness, and registering the same checkpoint with more than one witness. Hardware-backed key custody, stage-2 continuity checking, and refusing the write on equivocation are marked planned rather than shipped.
I read it before linking it. It describes running a witness under your own domain with your own signing key, and their library and offline verifier appear as optional tooling rather than a dependency. That is the only version of the document worth linking from a page whose own text says single-operator dependency is a weakness we name rather than hide.
Rendered check: the two links sit inline in the card without disturbing the layout.
