Node.js 24.20.0 & 26.8.0 releases

Node.js 24.20.0 & Node.js 26.8.0 have been released simultaneously today.

These are non-security releases.

https://unofficial-builds.nodejs.org/ has picked up v26.8.0 already and should build a musl distribution soon. The build for v24.20.0 will follow several hours later, based on past experience.

The docker-node automation has had difficulty in the past, dealing with releases on the same day for more than one Node.js release line. Monitoring may be necessary.

Node.js 26.8.0 is defective - see nodejs/node#65566. It's incorrectly reporting itself as an alpha release.

I've paused the automated update script. There is was also a GitHub incident affecting actions.

#2615 processes Node.js 24.20.0 and the replacement Node.js 26.8.1 for 26.8.0.

actions/workflows/automatic-updates.yml is re-enabled and when run manually confirms that there are no more updates waiting.

It is not currently being run by cron, although it is supposed to run every 15 minutes. https://www.githubstatus.com/ should be monitored, in case there is an ongoing issue. It may recover on its own and it shouldn't be needed until the next release, which I'm seeing scheduled for 2026-09-01.

https://github.com/nodejs/docker-node/actions/runs/33053425994 is a scheduled run of actions/workflows/automatic-updates.yml, so GitHub Actions cron has kicked in again.

Closing this now, as the related actions have been completed.

docker-library/official-images#22146 is waiting for review and merge, however that is out of the hands of this repo, and it is managed by Docker.
